Summer Project: Week 4

FACES

I love drawing faces, but I often find that away from reference it can be one of my biggest kryptonites.

So this week I decided to draw people that I was spending time with each day from different angles, particularly side profiles because I really struggle with those.

First attempt: I made my brother look like a fat, pompous Earl. Sorry, Chris!

I can see my progress already, here. I have realised that each drawing will not be a complete carbon copy because I am drawing from observation, and said observation does move around more than a picture would.

I have really enjoyed drawing faces from observation this week. But it definitely still need some work. So does drawing other body parts from observation. I think I will try and get down to some life drawing classes in second year!
