Summer Project: Week 14

One week to go!

I still had a pretty miscellaneous theme this week, drawing random things, and things that I am interested in too.

Health

I watched a documentary on sugar this week, and it blew my mind as to how detrimental it can be on our health in excessive amounts, and how we are consuming excessive amounts a lot of the time without even realising!

I need to look more into the food industry and public health in general, I am fascinated by it, and could see it as a potential COP topic...

These fossils are one of my favourite drawings I have done in my sketchbook. I used wax crayons, that would stereotypically only children would use, but I am really pleased with the outcome that I achieved with using different colours to create depth and tone.

On my last day of summer I had a brain wave!

An idea for my zine could be 'the illustrated Otley Run'. I loved drawing the houses I lived in so much, and see this as a progression that could appeal to a much wider audience.

Summer Summary:

Summer started pretty well, but I massively lost my motivation half way through. This was partly because I felt a bit of 'cabin fever' being stuck in Grantham with zero inspiration, and the overwhelming fear of 'is this what life is like after graduation?'.

I am disappointed because I feel like I should have used my time away from college to produce and develop me work a lot more than I managed tom but I suppose now I will just have to use my time back in Leeds to do this.

However I have produced a handful of good drawings that I can develop at a later stage, and a few ideas that I can go back to as well.
