We collaborated with the second year Illustration students today in the studio. At the end of our peer review sessions to do with our summer projects they were given the task of providing us with three pieces of advice about the first year of BA Illustration, and also about the city of Leeds. Besides 'blogging every day' and 'keeping on top of everything', I thought that 'be yourself, stay true to yourself and don't panic if people are doing different things to you' stood out to me the most.I am definitely guilty of having many perfectionist habits and constantly comparing myself to others. But this has reinforced the fact that everyone's work is different, everyone has different interests and different ways of expressing their thoughts and ideas. Henceforth, I shall now 'take this with a pinch of salt', loosen up a little and experiment a lot more.
